Legionella Risk Assessments
There are approximately 200-250 reported cases of Legionnaires’ disease – a potentially fatal form of pneumonia – in the UK each year and it is a legal requirement to have a legionella risk assessment of all water systems located within a site.
Our fully comprehensive risk assessments are carried out with the dual purpose of managing the risk of Legionnaires’ disease and providing our Customers with a document which will have a significant impact on reducing liability should any problems occur.
Our assessors have extensive experience across a wide range of properties, from primary schools to universities, care homes to hospitals, and everything in between.
Following the site assessment, our qualified Risk Assessor will produce a clear, detailed report which will include;
- An understanding and background on the risks and legislation associated with Legionnaire’s Disease
- Comprehensive site specific observations of the water system to identify the potential risk of Legionella within the following areas;
- Incoming Mains Risers and mains water supply
- Cold Water Storage Tanks (where fitted) and associated down service supply
- Hot Water Generators (e.g. Calorifiers / Copper Cylinders / Combination Boilers) and associated flow and return pipe work
- Point of Use Water Heaters
- Electric or Centrally Fed Showers (where fitted)
- All outlets within the property globally temperature profiled
- A survey for dead legs either by installation or by limited usage
- Inspection of all plant and associated fittings for compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations
- A full asset register for the property
- Water sampling from each hot and cold water systems analysed by a UKAS accredited laboratory for the following sample parameters – TVC, E-Coli, Coliform and Legionella
- Executive summary outlining recommendations to alleviate any potential risks identified
